The Wyoming Cowboys continued their strong start to the 2026 football season on Friday night, defeating Purcell Marian 48-8 at Bob Lewis Stadium. With the victory, Wyoming improves to 2-0 on the season.

The Cowboys wasted little time establishing control, scoring three touchdowns in the opening quarter to take a 20-0 lead. Wyoming quarterback David Dupee connected with Donovan Brown on a 22-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring before Brown added a 63-yard fumble recovery for another score. Cam Maupin then intercepted a Purcell Marian pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown.

Wyoming continued to build its advantage in the second quarter. Dupee found Brylan Miltenberger for a 17-yard touchdown before connecting with Brown again for a 9-yard score. Jonas Whalen capped the first-half scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run, giving the Cowboys a 41-0 advantage at halftime.

The Cowboys added one more touchdown in the third quarter when Dupee connected with Brown for the third time, this time on a 10-yard touchdown pass, extending the lead to 48-0. Purcell Marian scored its lone touchdown in the fourth quarter to account for the final 48-8 margin.

Wyoming finished the night with 265 total yards, including 200 passing yards and 65 rushing yards. Dupee completed 14 of 16 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns. Miltenberger led the Cowboys with 94 receiving yards on four receptions, while Brown recorded three catches for 41 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

Whalen carried the ball 11 times for 63 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Wyoming forced five Purcell Marian turnovers, including four interceptions. Maupin's interception return resulted in a touchdown, while Whalen, Brown, and Cooper Metz also recorded interceptions.

Charlie Walker led the Cowboys with 11 tackles, followed by Tyler Johnson-Huff with nine. Metz added five tackles and a pass breakup, while Aviry Steward recorded a sack.

Wyoming returns to action Friday, September 4, traveling to Monroe for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
