Strong Performances at State Swim Meet for Wyoming

The Wyoming High School swim team sent 14 swimmers to the OHSAA Division II State Championships in Canton, Ohio. The Cowboys had a strong performance at the state meet. The girls team scored 114 team points to finish 5th overall. The boys team finished in 10th place with 82 team points.
  Individually, junior Ansley Neff finished State Runner-Up in the Girls 200-Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:50.52. She also finished in third place in the Girls 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 0:51.84. Joining Neff in this event was freshman Willow Adams. She finished 14th overall with a time of 0:54.15.

In the Girls 200-Yard Individual Medley, Esme Harness finished 15th overall with a time of 2:13.64. Wambui Mbui and Amelia Auger placed 20th and 32nd overall in the prelims. Harness competed in the 100-Yard Backstroke where she finished 16th overall with a time of 1:00.87. 

Freshman Willow Adams placed 6th overall in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 0:57.65. 

Wyoming's Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Relay made up of Willow Adams, Wambui Mbui, Esme Harness, and Ansley Neff finished in third place with a time of 1:32.83. The same quartet placed fourth overall in the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:35.07.

Senior Cooper Stenken achieved a 6th place finish in the 100-Yard Breastroke with a time of 57.90. He also placed 10th overall in the 200-Yard Individual Medley with a time of 1:56.34. In the 100-Yard Breaststroke, Willem Hogenesch placed 16th overall with a time of 1:00.62, and placed 27th in the preliminaries of the 200-Yard IM.

The Cowboys' 200-Yard Medley Relay made up of Carter Rummer, Cooper Stenken, Jake Calvert, and Noah Fent finished in 9th place with a time of 1:38.00.

In the Boys 50-Yard Freestyle, Noah Fent placed 19th overall and Jake Calvert finished 30th during the prelims. Calvert secured 26th place in the 100-Yard Freestyle, and Fent finished 27th in the same event.

The 200-Yard Freestyle Relay of Calvert, Hogenesch, Spera, and Fent finished in 7th place with a time of 1:29.07.
